The 2023 Jeep Wrangler will take part in the following year’s SUV segment’s competition, considering the so many different SUVs being produced and launched. From the many reports, Jeep is said to release the updated version of Wrangler, one of the legendary offroad SUVs knowing for its tough reputation. Aside from the better and more robust style, expect to find many upgrades on the cabin. You will never be disappointed with this one!
The Upcoming Project
The new model would be coming as a 2-door type (just like the previous model). It’s also possible to have the 4-door Wrangler Unlimited. All the offered models would be unique, having removable soft-top with the doors. This is also the SUV having 5 engine options (which is rare in this industry), and one of them would be the 4Xe PHEV Wrangler.
The Exterior Appearance
The Wrangler is known for its signature style of boxy construction. It is offered in two forms. The 2-door type is shorter while the Unlimited 4-door model is longer. That’s why the latter is more popular. All of them have soft-top and also rounded (LED) headlights. The windshield can be folder and the doors can be removed, which is great for the open-air fun or adventure. If you want to have more colors, go with High Altitude 4Xe or the Rubicon. They have Electric Blue on the front and also rear (tow) hooks.
Interior Cabin
The exterior is attractive, but the interior is also appealing. There is a nice mix and balance between the modern and the traditional vibe. If you want more flexibility, choose the Unlimited 4-door model where the rear seat can hold up, allowing more people in the car. The vehicle accommodate up to 5 people in this manner. The dashboard itself is clean with various center screen sizes. You can choose the one from 5 inches to 8.4 inches. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay would be included as the standard features.
Powertrain and Performance
It is likely that the engine will be the same. As it was mentioned before, there are 5 different units being offered. The best unit is the V6 Pentastar with 3.6 liter capacity producing 285 hp with manual 6 speed transmission. But you can always get the auto 8 speed transmission being the optional pick. With the engine and such arrangement, you can also get the mild hybrid eTorque system to boost fuel economy.
There is also the turbocharged unit with 2.0 liter capacity, churning 270 hp. Another one would be V6 EcoDiesel of 3.0 liter capacity, producing 260 hp. The Rubicon, however, has one of the most potential units, with V8 unit of 6.4 liter capacity that is producing 470 hp. Because of this unit, it is able to reach 60 mph in around 4.5 seconds. Not to mention that the ride still has impressive offroad ability.
The Full Electric SUV
For the new 2023 Jeep Wrangler, there would be the Magneto for the full electric type. It should be ready around very early 2022. Unlike the regular (and standard) model using the V6 unit 3.6 liter capacity, Magneto is using electric motors being connected to manual six speed transmission. There are 4 li-ion battery packs within the cargo area, delivering 70 kWh. It is claimed that the SUV can offer 210 miles within one charge.
The entire unit can provide 285 hp and 260 Nm of torque. The Magneto can reach 60 mph within 6.8 seconds. It’s not too bad, but it’s not the fastest one either. This one will come with 35-inch of tires, Warn winch, rock rails, and also 2.0 inches of lift kit.
Price and Release Date
If all the rumors are true, then the boxy SUV would be available anytime in 2022. For the price, there may be a bit increase from the current model. The 2-door model is set at around $29,000 while the Unlimited 4-door is set at around $31,500. The most expensive type would be the 4Xe with Sahara sold at $48,000, Rubicon at $51,700, and High Altitude at $54,000. What do you think about this Jeep?
