Let’s talk about the 2024 Jeep Recon Buyer’s Guide. In recent times electric vehicles have become a trend in the market and it is for good reasons. There has been significant growth in the number of electric vehicles across nearly every segment of the auto industry. The electrification of vehicles has made its mark in the pickup and station wagon segments, as well as the luxury SUV segment.
Jeep is one of the most renowned automobile brands in the world and is mainly known for making vehicles that are durable and tough on the road. Recently, Jeep made an official announcement of the launch of its first electric car. The car is said to have high off-road capability and is going to be one of the best electric SUVs in its price segment.
Everything that is new in the 2024 Jeep Recon
The car is inspired by the overly popular Jeep Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid car. The Jeep Recon 2024 is going to be a four-wheel full electric mid-sized Sports utility vehicle. The car will have a roof that is capable of power-folding and will have doors that can be easily removed.
This is a brand new vehicle, one that is all-electric, and is the first Jeep-branded electric vehicle to be launched in the United States. There is every indication that it will be able to do some serious off-roading as well. There is a similarity between the body and the Wrangler, but the grille is more in line with the Grand Cherokee.
One of the two electric models that will be new to Jeep’s lineup will be the Recon EV along with the Wagoneer EV, which is set to be released in 2018. According to some estimates, the Jeep Recon EV will be roughly the same size as the current Jeep Wrangler or two-row Grand Cherokee SUV, so it falls into the mid-size SUV category. It has been reported that reservations for the Jeep Recon EV will open in early 2023, and that production will begin in 2024 at some time during that year.
Design and Exterior of 2024 Jeep Recon
In order to accommodate the flat, underfloor battery pack, the Recon’s design features a lower beltline and less prominent fenders than most cars, something that is probably caused by its low beltline. It is said that the Recon has the largest amount of greenhouse glass that the brand has ever used in one of its vehicles, thanks to its massaged proportions and upright roof and windshield. If that does not give the SUV a feeling of spaciousness inside, the SUV also comes with a power sliding roof that can be controlled with a touch, as well as a removable door that resembles the doors of a Wrangler.
Just like a Wrangler, the Recon’s doors, windows, and roof will be removable. Taking the doors off is easier with exposed door hinges, not only as a retro design element. In order for the Recon to follow in the footsteps of the Jeep Wrangler, it features underbody protection, a blue tow hook, and aggressive off-road tires.
In order to make room under the hood of the vehicle for a frunk storage area for luggage and gear, the designers were able to eliminate the engine up front. A fairly innovative take on Jeep’s seven-slat grille with LED illumination around each rectangular element, and square headlamp signatures in place of circular ones, is also featured on the front end, along with bright blue tow hooks – as on other 4xe models and a distinctive take on Jeep’s rectangular grille.
Colors & Dimensions of Jeep Recon 2024
In addition to lime and bottle green, an outdoor olive, and a more elegant grey, Jeep has not given us any information on the new Jeep Recon SUV’s color palette. The Jeep Recon is fairly comparable in size to the Wrangler. Even though it is a completely different package, it has similar measurements. The dimensions of the Jeep Wrangler 4xe are 188.4 inches long, 73.8 inches wide, and slightly over 73.5 inches tall. Although we lack official information, individuals in the know tell us that the Jeep Recon is fairly comparable in size to the Wrangler.
Even though it is a completely different package, it has similar measurements. The dimensions of the Jeep Wrangler 4xe are 188.4 inches long, 73.8 inches wide, and slightly over 73.5 inches tall. Because of its EV battery, the Recon is likely to be just as hefty, if not a little heftier, than the Wrangler 4Xe, which weighs in at around 5,100 pounds in curb weight.
In no way is the Recon a replacement for the Wrangler
As mentioned earlier, the Jeep Recon is inspired by the Jeep Wrangler, there is a similar boxy shape to the Wrangler, but it is not the same vehicle, and it is not intended to replace the Wrangler. According to Jeep, they have been playing around with wild concepts that are based on the current Wrangler. There has been no production-ready version of those concepts, however. I do not think Jeep will offer two-door, 600-hp electric vehicles with manual transmissions in the future.
By having the Recon as part of the Jeep lineup, Jeep will have more time and space to come up with a new concept for the iconic vehicle while taking into account a new era. Additionally, Jeep also has the option to use an independent front and rear suspension since it is not the Wrangler, allowing it to explore intelligent options such as these.
Charging, Battery life & total range of the Jeep Recon 2024
There is no proper final detail regarding the battery life, charging time and total range of the Jeep Recon. Jeep claims that their aim when creating the Jeep Recon was to make it capable of tackling the Rubicon Trail and ensuring that it has a sufficient range at the end to allow the driver to drive back to town at the end.
Despite being not that long, the Rubicon trail drains a battery pretty quickly. With ideal charging hardware and the STLA Large platform, we would expect a range of about 400 miles when driving on-road.
With the Jeep Recon, You will be able to go off-road
In a recent announcement, Jeep confirmed that the Recon would receive the brand’s Trail Rated badge. There will be traction management features such as Jeep’s Selec Terrain, e-lock axles, underbody protection, tow hooks, as well as aggressive off-road tires as standard equipment.
The Cargo and the Interior of the Jeep Recon 2024
Jeep Recon’s interior appears to be functional, spacious, and sturdy. It should be easier for rear passengers to stretch their legs on a flat floor. Several design elements, including new windows, a lower beltline, and a Sky Slider roof, lend the overall design a sense of bringing the outdoors in.
There is a trunk space as well as space behind the rear seats in the Jeep Recon. When the rear seats are up, you can expect about 30-odd cubic feet of cargo space. Although we don’t know what the exact figures will be for the front and back just yet, the EV chassis will make it more practical than its ICE counterpart.
The Pricing of the Jeep Recon 2024
In terms of the Recon EV starting price, Jeep has not yet announced it, so we think it is reasonable to assume the price will be higher than that of the gasoline-powered Wrangler. In terms of price, it can be expected that it will be similarly priced to the $55k base of the Jeep Wrangler 4xe.
According to some estimates, the 2024 Jeep Recon’s price will be between $55k and $60k before options are added. However, depending on what trim level you choose and what powertrain you choose, which might cause the price to differ as well
The availability of the 2024 Jeep Recon
It has not been officially announced when the Jeep Recon will be released, but we know it will debut in 2023. In accordance with the manufacturer, production is expected to begin only in 2024, and it will be built in the USA.
Europeans would not have to wait as long as the car is rumored to debut in Europe in the first quarter of 2024. The rest of the world will also start receiving the vehicle in their local markets soon. It is anticipated that reservations will open in the early part of 2023.
